Welcome baby Rhys!

It's been a bit quiet around here the past month (well, at least on our blog and Instagram!) as we took some time to enjoy our latest adventure. In actuality it's a lot noisier at our house these days with the new addition of our baby! Rhys Raymond decided to make a grand entrance, arriving 7 days after his due date (read our last pregnancy post) with a giant splash (my water broke, get it?) on 2.3.18 and we couldn't be happier. He planned his arrival perfectly while we didn't have any shoots or weddings booked, but did come overnight which meant no sleep for 48 hours for us! Luckily we had just eaten at one of our favorite spots, Uneeda Burger, so we were energized on burgers, fries and shakes! We both agree that one of the best parts at the hospital was not only meeting Rhys for the first time, but having Bryce come to meet him. After a little hesitation on Bryce's part, coming in the hospital for the first time was a big new event, he sprang into action asking for "baby Rhys". Watching our little (now he looks so big!) toddler climb onto the hospital bed to hold Rhys on his lap was the cutest thing ever. Granted, the novelty of having a baby brother wore off by the end of the week, but we'll cherish those first few big brother kisses and gentle pats forever. The past 3 weeks (cannot believe it's been 3 already!) have literally flown by as we adjust our love and home to squeeze in a new member, juggle two little guys, snuggle baby, smell baby's head (the best smell), shower big brother with loads of love, and remember how to do this newborn thing all over again. I remember being super nervous while pregnant that Rhys would change our family and that I wouldn't have enough love to go around. I just love Bryce so much I couldn't fathom how I could feel that way again. But an article I read mentioned that you don't just split your love once a new baby comes. Instead, your love grows, expanding to a new level you didn't even realize you were capable of. This ended up being so true, but not something I could understand until after having Rhys. Of course having Rhys would change our family, but he changed it for the better, giving us all more love to share, new experiences, and Bryce the newest title of big brother. We're loving every minute with Rhys (although admittedly sometimes I black out during those night feedings) and are so grateful to all the people who have showered us with love, congratulations and food! We couldn't do it without our village.Welcome to the world baby Rhys, we love you! ~Erik & MarissaCiccarelliPhotography_1755Big guy: 21 inches, 9 lbs 10 oz, head circumference 100%CiccarelliPhotography_1756CiccarelliPhotography_1757Our newest little guy has definitely already been subjected to many photo sessions to document the beginning of his life.
