Photo Challenge 2 of 12: Moving Lights

Create. Challenge. Educate. We seriously had so much fun for this challenge.  It was cold and dark, yes, but we were laughing so hard and trying more and more new things that what started as a 20 minute test became a 90 minute fun free-for-all!While testing out different shutter speeds to see how long we needed for each design we were trying to create we kept changing speeds, location, and design. Some worked! And some definitely did not, or at least not on the first try. Below are our top 4 favorites! We call them (in order from top left to bottom right): Saturn's Partial Rings, Loops, Devil, and Bat.We found that the subject needed to stand still, the flash needed to go off at the end (which you can set in your DSLR Canon by going to Menu and clicking on External Speedlite Control), and the second person needed to move very fast (and either hide behind the subject or get out of the frame before the flash went off).Photo Challenge 2 of 12: Moving LightsWhat we used: a tripod for the camera, an on camera flash, and our two cell phones on flashlight modeSettings (if you're interested in trying this project at home): f/5.6; ISO 200; 1-4 sTime of day: NightStay creative. ~Erik & Marissa2015-03-10_006
